Brown Coal
Brown coal, also called lignite, is a low rank high moisture content coal which is used mainly to generate electricity. According to the 2002 assessment, The world\'s recoverable lignite resources are 188Gt, Australia has 37.7Gt, 20%, only less than Germany (23%). 2002 Australian produced brown coal accounted for 8% of the global output, ranking third. First place was Germany (20%), the second is the United States (10%). Australian brown coal production for 2008-09 was 68.3 million tonnes (Mt) valued at $2.3 billion, all from Victoria. The Latrobe Valley mines of Yallourn, Hazelwood and Loy Yang produce about 98% of Australia\'s brown coal. Locally significant brown coal operations occur at Anglesea and Maddingley.
Brown Coal Processing
SBM supply the whole in machines for the coal processing and drying to ensure product quality in case of changes of feed composition or throughput. The turnkey solution and service also simplifies and shortens the reaction on market demands.
At the mines, the lignite is transferred to the ROM-lignite bunker. The lignite is crushed here in a crushing station before being fed to the so-called wet grinding station, where two fractions of differing particle size are produced from the raw coal in screening and crushing circuits. The coarse fraction is well used for combustion in the power plant.
Then Dry plant is needed for drying of the finer lignite fraction produced in the "wet plant". Dries down the finer lignite to water contents of between 12 and 20 wt.% . The dry lignite from the dry plant is then fed for further beneficiation (e.g. briquette and pulverized lignite production, or production of coke).
Brown Coal Crushing Plant
Large coal enterprises attach much importance to crushers\' capacity, quality, maintenance and the cost-effectiveness in the long term. SBM will supply different sizes of brown coal crushing plant. The maximum output can reach 1000tph. SBM will choose the most good quality crushers, conveyor and feeders for the brown coal crushing plant. There are also many models of crawler type mobile crusher, which will minimize the equipment downtime and integrates the coal conveying and crushing, thus greatly reduces the use cost. It is favored by large coal enterprises, especially coal mine, as it meets their requirements for high capacity and efficiency processing of the coal.
Brown Coal Grinding Plant
The particle size of slack coal is 0 ~25 mm. The consumption of coal is quite large in thermal power plants. Take a 1 million kW thermal power plant for example, coal consumption amounts to 11,000- 13000t a day. It takes 60% ~ 80% of the total cost for generating electricity. So it is important to grind the coals to better appropriate size. It is advisable to adopt appropriate coal mill for coal grinding plant. This can not only improve the utilization of coal, but also contribute to energy saving, environmental protection, economic benefits. According to the market research, vertical roller mill is used most widely.
There are also other grinding mills like traditional Raymond mill, Roller mill, Trapezium mill, etc. They can also meet different requirements for grinding coal into different sizes and types. Customers can choose an appropriate coal according to their specific needs.
